Dr. Perumal earned his Medical degree from Madras Medical College in Chennai, India.

He has also trained in the United Kingdom in various Hospitals accredited by Royal College of Physicians UK and passed the MRCP exam (UK) and trained in Gastroenterology.

Subsequently, he worked as a senior Registrar in Gastroenterology in King Faisal Military Hospital in Saudi Arabia and later worked as a Specialist Physician in Internal Medicine at the Port Hedland Regional Hospital in Australia.

Dr. Perumal completed residency in Internal Medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, New York in 1995. He founded a hospitalist practice at Kent County Memorial Hospital in Warwick, Rhode Island, and later served as a Medical Director at Quincy Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

With over 30 years of management, administrative, and patient care experience, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
