Get to know Internist Dr. Julie K. Fox, who serves patients in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Dr. Fox is a well-versed internist whose primary care practice serves Silver Spring, Rockville, Bethesda and Potomac, Maryland, as well as communities in Washington D.C. and Virginia. She is one of the few female internists in the Silver Spring area, offering a concierge-like atmosphere, and is affiliated with Holy Cross Hospital.

“I love practicing internal medicine and find it extremely gratifying helping my patients monitor and improve their health. My goal is to deliver excellent healthcare and treat my patients with respect, kindness, and undivided attention. I focus on treatment, as well as emphasize prevention, as this is vital to keeping patients well. My staff and I work together to educate our patients on ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle and keep new problems from starting. I cherish the strong relationships I share with patients, continually working with them on key areas, such as cardiovascular health, diabetes prevention, nutrition, fitness, bone health, and even emotional well-being” expressed Dr. Fox.

A 1988 graduate of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, she served her internship and residency in internal medicine at George Washington University Hospital in 1990 and 1991, respectively. 

Licensed to practice medicine in Maryland and Florida, Dr. Fox attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

Named a Washingtonian Top Doctor, Dr. Fox is the recipient of Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2011, 2020), Patients’ Choice Award (2020), and On-Time Doctor Award (2020).
