Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Fatima Flood, who serves patients in Newburgh, New York.

A devoted obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Flood joined Crystal Run Healthcare Newburgh in 2015. She enjoys helping people during their time of need and finds the science of how the body works to be fascinating.

Looking at her patients as if they were her family, or placing herself in their shoes, Dr. Flood loves that the OB/GYN specialty is the perfect juxtaposition of surgery and primary care. She can build long-lasting relationships with women, and advise them on how healthy eating habits prevent many diseases.

Back in the early days of her academic career, Dr. Flood graduated with her undergraduate degree from The City College of New York. She then went on to earn her medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, after which she performed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Nassau University Medical Center.

Subsequent to her training, she attained board certification in obstetrics and gynecology through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties. An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health.

Outside of the office, Dr. Flood enjoys cooking and trying new recipes.
