Dr. Shapiro is a board-certified otolaryngologist with 20 years of practice experience, focusing on adult rhinology and facial esthetics. 

In Libertyville, Illinois, he serves as the President of three companies: Apex Rhinology & Cosmetic Surgery Center, Reclaim MedSpa, and Medical Arts Unlimited, Corporation. His interest in facial esthetics started early in life when he had a vision of combining his interest in visual arts with his desire of becoming a physician. His interest in medicine is deeply rooted in his family tradition — many members of his family come from medical and nursing backgrounds.

Born in Moscow, Russia, Dr. Shapiro immigrated to California where he completed high school, college, and medical training. After completing a year of general surgery at Tulsa Regional Medical Center, he continued with training in ENT surgery and subsequently a prestigious facial plastic and reconstructive fellowship at the Institute of Facial Plastic Surgery in Sacramento, California.

Board certified in otolaryngology / facial plastic surgery, Dr. Shapiro is a Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Boards of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (AOBOO). The AOBOO is a joint organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the eye (ophthalmologists) and to qualified DOs who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the ears, nose, and throat (otolaryngologists).

Affiliated with multiple professional organizations, Dr. Shapiro is an active member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Academy of Otorhinolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, the American Osteopathic Colleges of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, the Chicago Medical Society, the Illinois State Medical Society, and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology.
