Dr. Morris is a radiation oncologist and practicing physician at the Tumor Institute Radiation Oncology Group, which she joined in 2003. She spends her time at the Swedish Cancer Institute Treatment Center – First Hill where she leads the Breast Radiation Therapy team and is very active in the Swedish First Hill and Polyclinic tumor boards and research programs. 

Caring for cancer patients in the greater Seattle area, Dr. Morris’ areas of expertise extend to accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI), external beam radiation therapy (EBRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), breast microseed treatment, Y90 TheraSphere radioembolization of liver tumors, and Xofigo (Ra-223) radionuclide infusion.

Originally from Germany, Dr. Morris graduated with her Medical Degree from Saarland University in 1991. She then immigrated to the United States, completing her residency and fellowship in Boston at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Board certified in radiation oncology, Dr. Morris is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The mission of the ABR is to certify that diplomates demonstrate the requisite knowledge, skill, and understanding of their disciplines to the benefit of patients.

Radiation oncology is one of the three primary specialties, the other two being surgical and medical oncology, involved in the treatment of cancer. A radiation oncologist is a specialist physician who uses ionizing radiation (such as megavoltage X-rays or radionuclides) in the treatment of cancer.
