Get to know Family Physician Dr. Luis A. Medina Aviles, who serves patients in Arecibo, Puerto Rico.

A prominent family physician, Dr. Medina Aviles works with patients at his private practice in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, where he specializes in pain management, weight loss, and acupuncture. He can also be found on staff at Hospital Susoni, where he has worked in various roles since 2000.

Back in the early days of his academic career, he graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Universidad Interamericana in 1989, and earned his medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in 1993. He then went on to complete his internship at the Hospital Regional de Arecibo in 1994, and his transitional residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Hospital Regional de Ponce in 1995. Finally, he completed his residency in family medicine at the Universidad Central del Caribe in 2000.

An authority in his field, Dr. Medina Aviles maintains licensure in acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, and has completed advanced courses in pulmonary resuscitation and trauma.
