Dr. Mary Carter Robinson, D.D.S., a renowned oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Maryland Oral Surgery Associates, has proudly enjoyed serving the Maryland community at their College Park location since 2013. With a strong commitment to bringing compassion, innovation, and exceptional skill to each patient she treats, Dr. Robinson has become a trusted figure among colleagues and patients of all ages.
A board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr. Robinson specializes in a wide array of surgical services, with special focus on immediate or “emergency dental implant” placement, “All-on-X” full arch implant treatments, wisdom teeth removal, sinus lift surgery, bone grafting and reconstruction, facial cosmetic procedures, and pathology. When possible, Dr. Robinson enjoys collaborating with her patients to offer immediate dental implants to minimize downtime. She utilizes up-to-date surgical technology, which includes creating computer-generated 3-D implant placement for both single unit and full-arch “Teeth-in-a-Day” cases. Her practice is dedicated to patient comfort, offering in-office intravenous sedation and general anesthesia.
Dr. Robinson’s academic credentials are impressive. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree with Magna Cum Laude honors from Xavier University while later attending international medical mission trips. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Meharry Medical College-School of Dentistry in 2007, ranking #1 in her class. She was elected “Miss Meharry Medical College” and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
Dr. Mary Carter Robinson then went on to complete 4 years of hospital-based residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in California, where she acted as Chief Resident from 2010-2011. She was the first female surgeon to complete this program. She also researched reconstructive bone grafting techniques.
In addition to her role as a partner surgeon at Maryland Oral Surgery Associates, Dr. Robinson has served on the staff at Holy Cross Hospital since April 2015. She is also the founder and CEO of Aví Scrub Caps, a business she launched in January 2025, reflecting her innovative spirit within the medical community.
As a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Dr. Robinson’s expertise is widely acknowledged. She is often a guest lecturer for both dentists and dental students and participates in the University of Maryland’s “Intern For a Day” program, displaying her love of teaching, academics, and mentorship. She currently serves as a board member for the Maryland Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a member of several other local professional and volunteer organizations.
