Get to know Otolaryngologist, Dr. Howard R. Goldberg, who serves patients in Washington, Pennsylvania

A board-certified otolaryngologist, Dr. Goldberg is the founder of Washington Ear, Nose and Throat in Washington, Pennsylvania. He is regionally recognized as a leader in the medical and surgical treatment of a wide spectrum of ENT disorders. Dr. Goldberg brings together a compassionate bedside manner with meticulous surgical technique to create an innovative approach to treating ENT disorders. He practices alongside Dr. Marcus J. Magister and Dr. Edward M. Stafford

In 1997, Dr. Goldberg received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He remained at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he conducted both his general surgery internship (1997-1998) and otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency (1998-2002). 

Dr. Goldberg attained board certification in otolaryngology from the American Board of Otolaryngology-head and Neck Surgery. The American Board of Otolaryngology is a non-profit corporation that has set the mission of ensuring professional standards with certificates and memberships, and has offered training in the fields of head neck surgery to professionals since 1924.

Otolaryngology is a medical specialty which is focused on the ears, nose, and throat. It is also called otolaryngology-head and neck surgery because specialists are trained in both medicine and surgery. An otolaryngologist is often called an ear, nose, and throat doctor, or an ENT for short.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellow (FAAO-HNS) of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Goldberg is licensed to practice in the state of Pennsylvania. He maintains hospital privileges at Washington Hospital in Washington, Pennsylvania, and Monongahela Valley Hospital in Monongahela, Pennsylvania.
