With nearly 50 years of vocational experience to his credit, Dr. Downham II has been serving as a dermatologist at Henry Ford Medical Center-Taylor since 1978. Some of the areas that he specializes in are general dermatology, hives, poison ivy, poison oak, acne, basal cell carcinoma, birthmarks, dermatitis, dry skin, ulcers, plantar warts, rash, ringworm, shingles, skin tags, and liver spots.

Alongside his clinical role, he has been serving as a Clinical Professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan since 1974. He then went on to serve his internship in internal medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in 1971, followed by his residency in dermatology at Wayne State University in 1974.
