Get to know Periodontist Dr. T. Merrell Williams, who serves patients in Florida.

Recognized as a remarkable board-certified periodontist with a dedication to enhancing smiles and rejuvenating beauty, Dr. Williams is the Founder of Implant Dentistry Periodontics & Facial Rejuvenation with offices in Tampa and Wesley Chapel, Florida.

With over two decades of experience in his field, Dr. Williams uses his expertise in facial anatomy to help each patient turn back the clock on their appearance, so they can look as young as they feel. As a certified provider of Botox and dermal fillers, he uses the same skill and precision that he brings to every dental procedure to create natural-looking enhancements.

Among his professional affiliations, he is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the National Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the West Coast Dental Association, the Tampa Bay Area Dental Association, the Tampa Bay Periodontal Association, the Hillsborough County Dental Association, and the Hillsborough County Dental Research Clinic.

After earning his Master of Science degree in Oral Biology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, Dr. Williams went on to obtain his certificate in periodontology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. He earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in Gainesville, where he was a part of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and served as a Clinical Assistant Professor. 

With his education and training going above and beyond the mandatory requirements of his specialty, he is board-certified through the American Board of Periodontology, an organization which serves the public and the dental profession by administering the board certification process for experts in the dental specialty of periodontics. 

Periodontology is the specialty of dentistry that studies supporting structures of teeth, as well as diseases and conditions that affect them. A periodontist specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease, and in the placement of dental implants. They are familiar with the latest techniques for diagnosing and treating periodontal disease and are trained in cosmetic periodontal procedures and grafting procedures to rebuild lost bone and gum tissue.

When Dr. Williams is not caring for patients, he enjoys traveling, teaching, and spending time with his family. He also supports those who are less fortunate by participating in dental mission trips around the world and providing free dental care.
