After earning her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from the University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Michaels went on to further her training. She completed her internship and residency at Valley Hospital Medical Center, where she served as chief resident. 

A Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD) and a Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology (FAOCD), the doctor is board-certified in dermatology by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology (AOBD). The AOBD is an organization that provides board certification to qualified DOs who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the skin.

An Editorial Advisor for the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, Dr. Michaels has published in several peer-reviewed dermatology journals. She integrates evidence-based medical science with professional, compassionate healthcare in a warm environment that provides patients with the effective, customized dermatological solutions they deserve.
