An experienced Internist and Emergency physician, Dr. Akinpelu is the Medical Director of Rejuve Medical Group & Spina Therapeutics, working with patients at their offices in Accokeek, Maryland and Chester, Virginia. He has also had the pleasure of being Medical Director of two emergency departments, over his career of more than 15 years.
Born and raised in England, he earned his medical degree from the College of Medicine, University College Hospital, University of Ibadan in 1994. After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Brooklyn Hospital Center, Cornell University in 2002.
Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the doctor is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
