What do you attribute your success to?

  • My practice started from Philippines afterI graduated from University with then BSPT degree and then I went to UAE and work initially as home therapist exposed to rehabilitation in home setting . Then I worked with an Iragi orthopedic doctor in an out patient clinic where I was trained to treat 3-5 patients at the same time in same hour period. This trained me to think fast, decide fast and move fast. After that, I joined the biggest government hospital in Abudhabi where I worked with 40 PT from different countries including Pakistan, Philippines, Nigeria, Somalia, Nepal, India, UK, Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, U.S ,Libya and Poland. I was exposed to different techniques and culture of treatment interventions which widened my understanding about using critical judgement as a physical therapists. I was also stationed as in patient Ortho, intensive care rehabilitation, neuro, neuro surgical, medical, pool therapy, pediatric, sports rehab and then out patient therapy. As I came to United States, I initially worked in nursing home setting giving me the opportunity to treat geriatric population in more complex setting. And when I find my way back to outpatient world and rehabilitation here in U.S, I learned to love the hand skills more and more. I attribute my success to my eagerness to help my patients. To my responsibility as a bread winner to my whole family and to my kids Justine Gaive and Gwaneth Leine , who I want to prepare a good future so I worked as hard as I can. And of course to my husband, Colby Stambaugh, who is always very supportive to everything .
