Get to know Podiatrist Dr. Douglas Hansen, who serves patients in Houston, Texas.

A respected podiatrist, Dr. Hansen specializes in treating common foot issues, including heel pain, ingrown toenails, bunions, and hammer toes. He also cares for foot trauma, including flat foot correction, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgeries, as well as revises prior surgical outcomes.

Since January of 2023, he has been serving as the Owner & President of Valhalla Foot & Ankle Specialists, PLLC in Houston, Texas. His patients enjoy his quality care and appreciate the time he spends with them in order to fully understand their issues.

Locally, he is affiliated with Houston Methodist West Hospital, HCA Houston Healthcare West and Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center. 

Prior to pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Hansen served in the U.S. Army for 12 years, which included a combat tour in Iraq.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science from the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago. He then continued his education at the university, where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. 

Thereafter, Dr. Hansen completed a three-year surgical residency at Kingwood Medical Center, where he served as chief resident in his final year.

Leading the field in foot and ankle care, he is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS). The ABFAS is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the public interest by promoting excellence in the art and science of podiatric surgery through certification.

Podiatry is a branch of medicine devoted to the study, diagnosis, and medical and surgical treatment of a variety of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity. A podiatrist, also known as a podiatric physician or a foot and ankle surgeon, is a medical professional devoted to the treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity. They can treat injuries and complications from ongoing health issues like diabetes. 

In his free time, Dr. Hansen enjoys golfing, fishing, hiking, camping, collecting Funko Pops, as well as spending time with his loved ones.
