At what age is an adjustment safe for children?
That is an excellent question. My daughter was adjusted within an hour of being born and I have many patients who are children. More and more children are getting pain due to our lifestyle, more time on tablets, phones, and computers but also those who are active. In general, children who are adjusted miss fewer days at school, are able to focus better, and perform better in sports. It is never too early to schedule an appointment with a chiropractor to have their spine checked. "As the tree bends, so it grows." READ MORE
Can an X-ray diagnose a spinal deformity?
Thank you for your question. X-rays can be very beneficial for assisting in a diagnosis for a number of things. However, without an exam, I cannot say for certain if an X-ray, MRI, or CT would be most beneficial. X-rays are definitely a good starting point and are the most cost effective. READ MORE
Can a chiropractor help me with my lower back pain?
Low back pain is definitely a common complaint seen by chiropractors with good results. To know for certain if it can help you, schedule an evaluation with a local chiropractor. Thanks for the question! READ MORE
How can i reduce my pain due to ankle sprain?
Thank you for the question. After a trauma, it is best to ice, especially in the first 48-72 hours. Ice for 15 - 20 minutes, wait an hour, and repeat. I would schedule with a local chiropractor for an evaluation and passive modalities such as electric muscle stimulation or cold laser therapy. READ MORE
Can excess weight cause spine problems?
Thank you for the question. Not only does your body go through changes during pregnancy, but they continue following pregnancy in what has been termed the "4th trimester". I would recommend making an appointment with a local chiropractor in order to be evaluated and see if chiropractic is right for you. To answer your main question, yes, weight gain can attribute to low back pain, especially weight gained around the midsection. Thanks again. READ MORE
My father is suffering from severe back pain. Can it be treated with manual adjustment of the spine?
Thank you for your question. Usually, people who start with chiropractic care are more likely to avoid surgery. I would recommend scheduling an appointment with a chiropractor in your area who will be able to take a proper history, exam, and X-rays and let your father know if he is a chiropractic candidate. Experiencing numbness and pain after elbow fracture treatment. Why is this happening?
Thank you for your question. This is a complicated question because it is post trauma and post surgery. I would follow up with your orthopedist surgeon. You could have pain from nerve regeneration or something muscular. The numbness could also be from surgery or a misalignment of the joint. I would definitely contact your surgeon and make sure everything has healed properly. He may refer you to a physical therapist. Once you are cleared from the surgeon you are welcome to also contact a chiropractor who works on extremities and does physiotherapy. Best of luck! READ MORE
Very tight neck
One of the symptoms of a subluxation (or misalignment of a vertebral joint) is taut and tender muscle fibers. Chiropractic and massage work wonderfully together. I would recommend scheduling an appointment with a chiropractor and having an evaluation to see what chiropractic can do for you. READ MORE
Do chiropractors typically take x-rays?
Each chiropractor determines whether xrays are necessary based on the individual patient's presenting complaint and a thorough health history. In most situations, xrays are performed in the office. If an office doesn't have in house xray machine, then a patient is referred to a radiology clinic. READ MORE
Pain years after spinal fusion surgery
Anytime you have surgery, your nerves are cut. That's why you experience numbness in the area following it. Nerve regeneration is a strange thing. It can take days, or weeks, or even years. So it is possible that the pain you are experiencing may be from surgery. However, without a proper exam READ MORE
Should I see a chiro after a car accident?
It is never to late to see the chiropractor. With that being said, the sooner you are able to go in and get an evaluation, the better. READ MORE
Can a chiropractor relieve muscle pain?
While the pain is not directly in your back, yes! Your spine and muscles are intimately connected. Although your pain may not be in your back, it was due to an injury. When your spine is out of alignment it causes tight and sore muscles; as well as, some swelling. By adjusting your spine, we are able to put motion back into the joint and relieve the tension on the nerves allowing your body to better heal. READ MORE
