Get to know Dentist Dr. Mandy Kuhn Grimshaw, who serves patients in Aberdeen, North Carolina.

Adhering to the belief that a healthy mouth is ultimately linked to a healthy body, Dr. Grimshaw focuses on her patients’ total wellness at Kuhn Dental Associates in Aberdeen, North Carolina.

The dental practice provides fully comprehensive dentistry with a focus on state-of-the-art solutions to issues such as badly broken-down teeth, missing teeth, severe gum disease, sleep apnea, TMJ pain, and headaches. It also offers oral and IV sedation so that anxious patients can relax during longer procedures.

Kuhn Dental Associates was opened in 1970 by Dr. David Kuhn. As a pioneer in dental implants and full-mouth restoration, he attracted patients from all over the state and beyond. His practice has been on the leading edge of implant and cosmetic dentistry ever since. Dr. Kuhn’s daughter Dr. Mandy Grimshaw, joined the practice in 2005, and his son, Dr. Ritt Kuhn, joined in 2006. Together, they took over the practice in 2014.

Using neuromuscular dentistry, Dr. Grimshaw provides treatment for jaw joint disorders and has advanced training in treating sleep apnea. She is also an expert at using CEREC CAD/CAM technology to place crowns, bridges, veneers, and more in a single visit.

“I most enjoy helping others, working with great people, and having the freedom to choose how I provide treatment and whom I surround myself with.” states Dr. Grimshaw.

A 2005 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, Dr. Grimshaw has completed post-graduate course work for treating TMD, sleep apnea, and cosmetic procedures at the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies. Other post-graduate work completed by her includes comprehensive orthodontic training for children and adults with a focus on complete orthodontics with physiologic bites. In 2013, she was awarded LVI Fellow at the prestigious LVI Global Institute.

To date, she continues her dental education by taking advanced training courses on the latest techniques and practices that modern dentistry has to offer. Coupled with her use of state-of-the-art technology, this training allows her to provide the very best care for her patients. “I love being able to continually grow professionally by being a lifelong learner.” Dr. Grimshaw states.

In addition to being a member of the American Dental Association, the Dental Implant Associates of North Carolina, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, she has completed 278 continuing dental education hours of training in advanced aesthetics and neuromuscular science. She is also certified in oral conscious sedation by the Dental Organization of Conscious Sedation and the State of North Carolina and serves as Co-Director at Sandhills Dental Career Center, a program that trains dental assistants in a live dental office setting.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.

A native of the Sandhills, Dr. Grimshaw lives in Pinehurst with her husband and three children.
