Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Teresa Folger, who serves patients in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Dr. Folger is a board-certified and fellowship-trained obstetrician-gynecologist whose clinical interests include minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery, menopause management, and bioidentical hormone management. She is in practice with Lakeside Doctors Gynecology & Obstetrics in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 

Lakeside Doctors Gynecology & Obstetrics, formally Oklahoma City Gynecology & Obstetrics, is owned by physicians. Specializing in women’s health, the practice is affiliated with Lakeside Women’s Hospital. The staff of doctors, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses are compassionate and committed to providing patients with the best, most comprehensive care at every stage of life.

In her current role, she can also be found on staff at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center, which is a 511-bed hospital offering a full range of surgical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services. As the flagship location of the INTEGRIS Health Network, INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center is Oklahoma’s center for health care excellence.

The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began in 1983 after she earned her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. She then went on to complete her internship and residency within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at University Hospital. 

Following her training, she became board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada. 

Working constantly to be knowledgeable in all new techniques and procedures that are available in her field, Dr. Folger remains a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the North American Menopause Society, the American Medical Association, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Oklahoma State Medical Association, and the Oklahoma City Obstetrics and Gynecology Society.

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts). An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health.
