She acquired a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of West Florida, graduating with honors, and went on to graduate from the University of Florida with a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree, followed by two additional years of training in pediatric dentistry. She worked as a pediatric dentist near the University of Florida for a while before returning to Pensacola.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, she is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
