Get to know Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Sarabjeet Singh, who serves patients in Bakersfield, California.

Dr. Singh is a board-certified interventional cardiologist who is affiliated with the Central Cardiology Medical Clinic (CCMC) in Bakersfield, California. The CCMC is a full-service cardiology clinic with all necessary diagnostic testing in-house including echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, nuclear medicine, 64-slice CT, and peripheral vascular interventional procedures. It is the largest group in the San Joaquin Valley with service and excellence at its core.

Dr. Singh also serves as Director of CME & Research at Bakersfield Heart Hospital. Located in Bakersfield, California, Bakersfield Heart Hospital is a hospital that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular disease, as well as a wide range of other medical and surgical procedures. The hospital also offers a full service emergency department, total joint program, and accredited stroke center.

Dr. Singh received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Calcutta / Nil Ratan Sircar in India in 1999. He then went on to complete residencies in internal medicine at Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College, and SVBP Medical Hospital – all in India. Upon relocating to the United States, Dr. Singh completed his internship in internal medicine and an additional residency in internal medicine at the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, Illinois. He then went on to complete his fellowship training in cardiology at the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University in 2010, followed by his fellowship training in interventional cardiology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in 2011.

Dr. Singh is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Dr. Singh is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Singh is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), as well as a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions (FSCAI). Fellowship is one of the most distinguished designations the College offers its members. It is the ultimate recognition of professional achievement.

Dr. Singh was awarded the Community Hero Award by the California Resources Corporation (CRC) in 2019, the Humanitarian Award by the Patricia Jean Foundation in 2018, as well as the Interventional Cardiologist of the Year Award by the African American Association of Kern County in 2018. He was also awarded the Young Investigator Award by the American Association of Cardiologists of Indian Origin (AACIO).

Dr. Singh has served as a Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator in several drug and device studies. He has also conducted numerous research publications.

Interventional cardiology, on the other hand, is a branch of cardiology that deals specifically with the catheter based treatment of structural heart diseases. An interventional cardiologist, like Dr. Singh, specializes in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases, as well as congenital (present at birth) and structural heart conditions through catheter-based procedures, such as angioplasty and stenting.
