Get to know Vascular Surgeon Dr. Adam Sagarwala, who serves patients in Eatontown, New Jersey.

A committed vascular surgeon, Dr. Sagarwala is affiliated with Monmouth Heart & Vascular in Eatontown, New Jersey. His clinical interests are focused on complex aortic disease, including abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, renal artery disease, and peripheral artery disease.

Placing a strong emphasis on building deep connections with his patients, he believes that performing surgery on a person creates a unique bond between doctor and patient, and he strives to make his patients feel like members of his own family. His philosophy of care is centered on the idea that this relationship helps his patients to feel confident and secure as they work together to achieve the best possible health outcomes.

Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Sagarwala obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Dallas and his Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. After graduating with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine in 2009, he went on to complete his residency in general surgery at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital in 2014. Finally, he completed his fellowship in vascular surgery at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in 2016.

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in vascular surgery and general surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, which is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the use of surgery to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Maintaining fellowship status, he is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (FACOS), and has been certified as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).

Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Sagarwala is an active member of the American Osteopathic Association, the Society for Vascular Surgery, the American Venous Forum, the Society for Vascular Ultrasound, and the Eastern Vascular Society.

Vascular surgery is a surgical subspecialty in which diseases of the vascular system, including the arteries, veins, and lymphatic circulation, are managed by medical therapy, minimally invasive catheter procedures, and surgical reconstruction. A vascular surgeon diagnoses, treats, and manages conditions in the arteries and veins, also called the blood vessels. These specialists treat a range of health problems, from spider and varicose veins to life-threatening aneurysms, and can help patients manage chronic conditions throughout their lives.

In 2013, Dr. Sagarwala was recognized by Lifeline of Ohio as Physician of the Year, for his  outstanding collaboration in support of organ and tissue donation.
