Get to know Pulmonologist Dr. Dany Obeid, who serves patients in Daytona Beach, Florida. 

With years of experience as a board-certified pulmonologist, Dr. Obeid specializes in sleep medicine, critical care medicine, and pulmonary disease. He is currently affiliated with AdventHealth Daytona Beach in Florida. At AdventHealth Daytona Beach, formerly Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, the dedicated, compassionate hospital team provides award-winning care to patients and their loved ones.

Among his most notable achievements, Dr. Obeid founded the Advanced Sleep and Respiratory Institute in Ormond Beach, Florida. His career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from the  Faculty of Medicine at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. Upon relocating to the United States, he went on to complete his internship and residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, followed by his fellowship at pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at Henry Ford Hospital.

Shortly after, the doctor earned board certification in pulmonary disease, internal medicine, and sleep medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. He also became certified in pulmonary disease, internal medicine, sleep medicine, and critical care medicine by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons.

Pulmonology is a medical specialty that deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract. A pulmonologist is an internal medicine physician who specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating conditions and diseases that affect the lungs, bronchial tubes, and the respiratory system, including the nose, pharynx, and throat.
