Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Saima N. Jafri, who serves patients in Wethersfield, Connecticut.

A board-certified pediatrician, Dr. Jafri sees patients at her private practice – Pediatric Health Associates of Connecticut, LLC – in Wethersfield, Connecticut. In practice since 2003, she has a strong interest in pediatric obesity medicine and helping children successfully achieve and maintain healthy weight management goals and lifestyles.

A graduate from Barnard College of Columbia University, she earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her residency in pediatrics at the Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center and Winthrop University Hospital.

An expert in her field, the doctor has been recognized as  a Diplomate with the

American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) and a Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics (AOBP). The AOBP is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases in infants, children, and adolescents (pediatricians). 

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends individuals be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.

Among her most notable achievements, Dr. Jafri has been the recipient of the Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2015, 2013), On-Time Doctor Award (2015), and Patients’ Choice Award (2013).

Happily married, she and her husband are parents of two wonderful, rapidly growing children. She is fond of art and enjoys drawing and painting. Speaking several languages, she is fluent in English, Spanish, Urdu and Hindi.
