He has been  a surgeon in all the major national carotid studies which included VA cooperative asymptomatic carotid stenosis, ASAS, NASCET, and CREST  studies. His research studies includes studying dialysis graft and lower extremity ischemia.

He is a Fellow of the American board of Surgery of surgeons a independent non profit organization founded  in 1937 to provide board certification to individuals who have met a defined standard of education, training and knowledge. Additionally he is a senior Fellow in the Society of Vascular surgery and other societies.

Vascular surgery is surgical subspecialty in which  treats disease of the vascular system, including the arterial arteries, veins and lymphatic. These can be managed through medical therapy, minimally invasive catheter/balloon  procedures, and surgical  operations.

A vascular surgeon therefore can  diagnosis treats and manage  conditions in arteries and veins called blood vessels.  The specialist is called upon to treat patients with hardening of the arteries that lead to Aneurysms, strokes, kidney failure, pain in the leg gangrene and other conditions including swollen legs , varicose veins and inflammation of veins . 

The diagnosis of vascular diseases can  be further enhanced by using ultrasound and Doppler technology  and  monitor progression of disease
