Get to know Ophthalmologist Dr. Douglas J. Ripkin, who serves patients in Streetsboro, Ohio.

A knowledgeable ophthalmologist, Dr. Ripkin is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute in Streetsboro, Ohio. He specializes in the care of advanced glaucoma including bypass and MIG shunt devices, glaucoma laser surgery, and cataract surgery.

With a broad educational background, he received his medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico in 1979, before completing his residency in ophthalmology at St. Luke’s Medical Center in 1985. He then went on to complete his fellowship in anterior segment cataract and glaucoma at the California Pacific Medical Center in 1986, followed by an additional fellowship in glaucoma at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 1987.

In good standing with a number of professional organizations, Dr. Ripken is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the American Glaucoma Society.
