Get to know Pulmonologist Dr. Luis Watanabe Tejada, who serves patients throughout the State of Kentucky.

A board-certified pulmonologist, Dr. Tejada is affiliated with St. Elizabeth Physician Pulmonology, working with patients at their offices in Crestview Hills, Williamstown, Newport, and Florence, Kentucky.

A native of Peru, he graduated with his medical degree from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia Facultad de Medicina Alberto Hurtado. After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at the Henry Ford Hospital, and his fellowship in pulmonary disease at the John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County.

An authority in his field, the doctor is board-certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Pulmonology is a medical specialty that deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract. A pulmonologist is an internal medicine physician who specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating conditions and diseases that affect the lungs, bronchial tubes, and the respiratory system, including the nose, pharynx, and throat.
