Dr. Boothby has been named among the top 10 orthopedic surgeons in Fort Worth, Texas. He treats all types of orthopedic conditions and sports medicine problems, although his specialty is the complex arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder, as well as total and partial knee replacement. His philosophy is one of teamwork – to unite the physician, the patient and the physical therapists for the purpose of achieving the best outcome for the patient. Dr. Boothby makes every effort to treat conservatively and avoid surgery, unless it is the only or best road to recovery.
One of Dr. Boothby’s greatest attributes is his determination to ensure his patients understand their diagnosis and treatment. He educates and encourages his patients to work hard to heal and his manner is always positive and encouraging.
Dr. Boothby is currently serving patients at the Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute (OSMI) – of which he is the owner. Located in Fort Worth, Texas, OSMI is a two story, 20,000 square feet center that houses orthopedic clinics, an advanced physical therapy and rehabilitation center, and a state-of-the-art HydroWorx® aquatic physical therapy pool.
Dr. Boothby received his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2000. He then went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Henry Ford Hospital in 2001, followed by a plano arthroscopy and sports medicine fellowship in Plano, Texas in 2006.
Dr. Boothby is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). To ensure safe, ethical, and effective practice of orthopaedic surgery, the ABOS maintains the highest standards for education, practice, and conduct through examination, certification, and maintenance of certification for the benefit of the public.
Dr. Boothby is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS). He also holds professional memberships with several organizations, including the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the Texas Medical Society, the Tarrant County Medical Society, the Dallas County Medical Society, the Detroit Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Michigan Orthopedic Society, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
Dr. Boothby has been awarded several honors for patient care, including the Patients’ Choice Award for the last four years.
Dr. Boothby acts as either a sports medicine team physician or chief orthopedic surgery consultant for several local high school football teams including Aledo, Brewer, Crowley, and North Crowley. He also supports many local sporting events.
Dr. Boothby has served as a Major and Orthopedic Surgeon in the United States Army Reserve, retiring in 2011.

In his spare time, Dr. Boothby enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, fishing, boating, and watching all types of sports events. His passion is coaching his son’s baseball team.
