Get to know Vascular Surgeon Dr. Cassidy A. Duran, who serves patients throughout the State of Texas.

A board-certified vascular surgeon, Dr. Duran joined Dr. Russell Lam at Lam Vascular & Associates, a leading practice specializing in vascular and endovascular procedures as well as limb salvage (amputation prevention) and vascular surgery. She sees patients in Rockwell, Sunnyvale, and The Limb Salvage Center in Dallas, Texas. She specializes in peripheral artery disease (PAD), aortic aneurysm, carotid artery disease, varicose veins, and dialysis access.

“I love the field of vascular surgery for many reasons. I have an intense interest in limb salvage. I love that vascular surgery has so many variables, that there are different ways to approach any given case. I like having the freedom to consider each patient individually and determine the best course of treatment for them” expressed the doctor.

Graduating with her medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine, she has the distinction of being the first graduate of the integrated vascular program at Houston Methodist Hospital, seven years of intense training focused exclusively on clinical training and research in vascular surgery.

An authority in her field, the doctor is board-certified in vascular surgery and general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

Vascular surgery is a surgical subspecialty in which diseases of the vascular system, including the arteries, veins, and lymphatic circulation, are managed by medical therapy, minimally invasive catheter procedures, and surgical reconstruction. A vascular surgeon diagnoses, treats, and manages conditions in the arteries and veins, also called the blood vessels. These specialists treat a range of health problems, from spider and varicose veins to life-threatening aneurysms, and can help patients manage chronic conditions throughout their lives.

Growing up on a farm in west Texas, Dr. Duran was raised with values of honesty, integrity and diligence. Her patients tell her that they appreciate that she is real with them and that they know she works hard for them. She is often the first face her patients see early in the morning and the last visitor of the day.
