Get to know Neurologist Dr. George M. Sandoz, who serves patients in Conway, South Carolina.

Licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina and Virginia, Dr. Sandoz is a board-certified neurologist who practices at Conway Medical Center (CMC) in Conway, South Carolina. He is a part of the CMC Neurology team. 

Conway Medical Center is a trusted leader in healthcare and has served the medical needs of Horry County and surrounding communities for nearly a century. After earning his medical degree from the Catholic University of Cordoba in Argentina, Dr. Sandoz relocated to the United States. There, he completed his internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center, followed by his residency at the Medical College of Virginia. 

Following his training, he earned board certification in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists. He also earned board certification in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America. 

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
