Educated in the United States, Dr. Khetan graduated with his medical degree from the McGovern Medical School at University of Texas Health Science Center–Houston in 1994. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 1996 and 1998, respectively. 

Following his training, he attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), Dr. Khetan is also a member of the American Medical Association, the Dallas County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association.
