Bilingual Board-Certified Family Physician Offers Holistic, Personalized Care in Summit County

Dr. Velez brings over 15 years of diverse clinical experience and a passion for whole-person wellness to the Summit County community. 

Born in Puerto Rico, Dr. Velez earned her medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe in Bayamón, PR.  She completed her Internal Medicine Internship at New York Hospital of Queens and her family practice residency in Chestnut Hill Hospital (Temple University) in Philadelphia, PA.  She further specialized with a fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona and continued medical education within Longevity Medicine. Her career has spanned roles in federally qualified health centers, hospitalist positions, urgent care, and telemedicine, providing her with a comprehensive perspective on patient care.

She is passionate about delivering the best possible care to all ages, above and beyond the traditional sickness model approach.  Dr Velez believes in the power of combining the old school doctor-patient relationship with the integration of ancient wisdom and advanced technologies in an evidence-based manner.  She incorporates traditional family medicine, with functional testing to not only treat illness, but find the root cause of it, and focus on prevention.  

Together with her husband, an internist and high-altitude specialist, they founded Alpine Whole Health in Silverthorne, Colorado, in February 2025.  She is accepting new patients and offers both in-person and telehealth appointments.  She is able to provide longevity consultations, in addition to direct primary care services.  

Dr. Velez is fluent in both English and Spanish, enabling her to serve a diverse patient population effectively.  Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Velez-Rodriguez enjoys outdoor activities, yoga, hiking, CrossFit, and relaxing at the beach.  She values spending quality time with her husband, two young children, and her black lab, Paco.
