Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Lisa Meli, who serves patients in Hackensack, New Jersey.

A trusted pediatrician, Dr. Meli tends to children at Bergen Pediatrics – Hackensack Meridian Health in Hackensack, New Jersey.

Bergen Pediatrics – Hackensack Meridian Health offers medical care for families with infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. Services include: well baby/child/adolescent exams, sick visits, sports physicals, asthma and allergy maintenance, immunizations and vaccinations, and medical care for acute and chronic health conditions.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Meli graduated with her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1993. She then went on to perform her residency in pediatrics at Overlook Hospital in 1996. Additionally she completed a Columbia residency at their affiliate Overlook hospital. 

Passionate about her field, the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics (AOBP). The AOBP is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases in infants, children, and adolescents.

Licensed to practice medicine in New Jersey, Dr. Meli is affiliated with Valley Hospital and Hackensack Meridian Health Hackensack University Medical Center.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.

In honor of her 30+ years of clinical expertise, Dr. Meli is the recipient of Patients’ Choice Award (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2010, 2012, 2013, 2014), Patients’ Choice 5th Anniversary Award (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015), and On-Time Doctor Award (2014, 2015).

On a more personal note, she speaks both English and Italian.
