Alexan is a highly respected and experienced physician, having been in practice for over a decade. His career in medicine began in 1998 when he graduated with his Medical Degree from Laval University Faculty of Medicine in the Caribbean. After medical school, Dr. Alexan completed his internship with Laval University Faculty of Medicine, followed by his neurology residency at McGill University in Canada. Driven to further his expertise and knowledge, he undertook his fellowship in neuromuscular disease at the University of Arizona. Dr. Alexan is certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, as well as having a specialist certificate in neurology from The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and has dedicated his life to delivering compassionate care. He is determined to enhance his patients’ quality of life, providing high quality, individualized care in order to ensure the most optimal results. With a passion for his work, Dr. Alexan is noted for his expertise in neurological treatments and pharmaceutical improvements. Dr. Alexan keeps current with the newest developments, guidelines, and procedures in his field by remaining a diplomate of the American Academy of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a member of The American Academy of Neurology and the Association of California Neurologist. Currently practices with his own private office, and is affiliated with Bakersfield Heart Hospital,Mercy Hospitals of Bakersfield, Adventist Health Bakersfield, Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, and St. Mary Medical Center Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease involving the central and peripheral nervous systems (and their subdivisions, the autonomic and somatic nervous systems), including their coverings, blood vessels, and all effector tissue, such as muscle. Neurological practice relies heavily on the field of neuroscience, which is the scientific study of the nervous system.
