Dr. Klingel is a caring and attentive dentist who, alongside Dr. Birkin Owart and their exceptional team, has been serving the people of Quincy, Wisconsin with high-quality family dental care at Desert Sun Dental since 1974. They have built a reputation as a progressive, upscale practice in their community, providing personalized treatments using the most advanced methods and technology.
“I really love transforming people’s smiles. So many times, our patients have gone for years with a smile that they aren’t proud of and doesn’t reflect who they are as a person. I hate to hear that someone doesn’t smile as much as he or she would like to because of the appearance of their teeth. That’s where I come in! When that smile is transformed and the patient loves what they see in the mirror, that’s what sparks my passion.” stated Dr. Klingel.
Following the completion of his bachelor’s degree in Biology, Magna Cum Laude, from Augustana College, he went on to obtain his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He then completed his General Practice Residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Taking great pride in what he does and enjoying using his skills and knowledge to help improve the lives of others, Dr. Klingel feels lucky and honored to be a dentist. He is passionate about his dental education and usually surpasses double the amount of hours of continuing education required by Washington State each year. “My studies help me ensure that each patient will receive personalized care that meets their needs and exceeds their expectations. My highest priority is the health and happiness of my patients, and my goal is to always offer the most effective, innovative, and comfortable services” as stated by the dentist.
As part of his continuing education, Dr. Klingel takes courses in cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, complex full-mouth reconstruction, advanced implant applications, and CEREC® same-day crowns. He is a former President of the Grant County Dental Society, and an active member of the Washington State Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the Columbia Basin Implant Study Club, and the NCW Spear Study Club.
“I love improving my patients’ health, whether it is getting them out of discomfort, changing their entire outlook through a new smile, or simply bringing a single tooth back to optimal health. I like talking with people and figuring out what their priorities are in life, then showing them how ideal dentistry works right in with their overall life goals” expressed Dr. Klingel.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
Active in his community through the Chamber of Commerce events, Dr. Klingel enjoys giving back to his friends and neighbors. His practice gets involved with as much as they can, including Women’s Day events, Red Cross blood drives, sponsoring sports teams, anything to do with the schools, providing free books to the elementary students, highway cleanup, and activities at the Reiman-Simmons House. His family also supports and volunteers with the Small Miracles Foundation, which provides lunches and library time to kids during the summer months.
“I try to use my good fortune to enrich the lives of as many other people as I can. Our time on the planet is short, and if I can have a positive, lasting impression on even one person, it is a life well lived” according to Dr. Klingel.
In his personal life, he lives on the edge of East Wenatchee, looking out over the beautiful river, Stemilt Hill, and up to Mission Ridge. His wife and best friend, Christine, is the Pharmacy Director at Columbia Valley Community Health in Wenatchee. They have two wonderful little boys named Holden and Graham, two Guinea pigs, a deaf 14-year-old Springer spaniel, and a wild six-month-old Goldendoodle puppy. Both of their boys are very active and keep them busy with all their interests, including skiing, karate, musical instruments, soccer, and baseball.
Outside of the office, Dr. Klingel enjoys boating, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, fishing, doing yard work, enjoying the region’s numerous wineries, and of course, spending time with his family. He also likes to dabble with his golf game.
