Renowned minimally invasive specialist brings over three decades of surgical excellence to Lancaster, Ohio

Fairfield Medical Center is pleased to announce the continued leadership and expertise of Dr. Scott O. Johnson, MD, FACS, in their General Surgery department. With more than 30 years of surgical experience and board certification, Dr. Johnson has made significant contributions to patient care, advancing both traditional and minimally invasive surgeries in Lancaster and the greater Fairfield County community.

Dr. Johnson earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his residency in surgery at Mount Carmel Health System. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), highlighting his commitment to surgical excellence and continuous learning.

At Fairfield Medical Center, Dr. Johnson is known for his expertise in procedures involving abdominal contents, including gallbladder, hernia, breast, and colon cancer surgeries, as well as esophageal, liver, pancreas, and thyroid operations. He plays a vital role in the hospital’s robotic-assisted and laparoscopic surgery programs, which aim to reduce patient recovery time and enhance surgical precision.

Dr. Scott O. Johnson, MD, FACS, is a board-certified General Surgeon with over 33 years of experience, practicing at Fairfield Medical Center and Lancaster Surgical Associates. He specializes in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgeries for conditions such as hernias, gallbladder disorders, cancer, and gastrointestinal diseases. Dr. Johnson has also served in various leadership roles, including Chair of the Department of Surgery.
