A native Miamian, Dr. Schottenstein completed her undergraduate studies at Boston University. She then went on to earn a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University before graduating in the top 10 percent of her class with her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.
Thereafter, she completed an extensive three year surgical residency, specializing in foot and ankle reconstruction at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Miami. During residency training, Dr. Schottenstein received advanced training in foot and ankle reconstruction, trauma, sports medicine, diabetic limb salvage, and wound care. Following residency, she completed her fellowship training in advanced foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, and now serves as clinical faculty for the fellowship program.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Schottenstein is also a board-certified Independent Medical Examiner experienced in dealing with workers’ compensation and personal injury patients, and in performing Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs).
Experienced in quality care unique for every patient, she is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. She also has professional society memberships with the Florida Podiatric Medical Association, the American Podiatric Medical Association, the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine, the Dade County Podiatric Medical Association, and the Broward County Podiatric Medical Association.
