Harris Gellman, MD, FACS, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic hand surgeon affiliated with Baptist Health Orthopedic Care. He focuses on diagnosing and treating a wide array of conditions affecting the elbow, wrist, and hand, such as arthritis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, fractures, ligament and tendon injuries, trauma, and neuromuscular disorders. Additionally, he addresses upper extremity paralysis resulting from brachial plexus injuries, cerebral palsy, strokes, and spinal cord injuries. Dr. Gellman is proficient in a variety of procedures, including arthroscopy, platelet-rich plasma injections, microvascular surgery, minimally invasive techniques, reconstructive surgery, as well as tendon repair, reconstruction, and transfers. Dedicated to the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows, Dr. Gellman has held numerous leadership roles in the academic sphere throughout his career. He presently holds the position of clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Davie, Florida. Dr. Gellman received his medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Furthermore, he undertook a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the University of California in San Diego, followed by an orthopedic surgery fellowship at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and holds Subspecialty Certification in Hand Surgery. A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Gellman is also a member of various professional organizations. He serves as an editorial reviewer for several prestigious medical journals and is actively engaged in clinical research, publishing his findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals and presenting his work at national and international conferences. In his leisure time, Dr. Gellman enjoys spending quality moments with his family and indulging in reading.
