Additionally, he serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine in Orlando, Florida. Established in 2006, the UCF College of Medicine is one of the first U.S. medical schools in decades to be built from the ground up. As a new medical school, UCF’s program epitomizes innovation, high-tech learning tools, and a pioneering spirit to educate young doctors and scientists in a new and better way for the 21st century.
In 1979, Dr. Dobradin earned his medical degree from the Jagiellonian University Medical College, the oldest medical school in Kraków, Poland. Upon relocating to the United States, he went on to complete his residency in general surgery at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. This was followed by an additional residency in general surgery at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
Before long, he became board-certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery, an independent, non-profit organization, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. A general surgeon performs a wide range of abdominal surgeries for many forms of intestinal and abdominal wall neoplasms, gallbladder disease, gastric and pancreatic disease.
