Get to know Thoracic Surgeon Dr. Murali Macherla, who serves patients in Arizona.

Being a board-certified and fellowship-trained cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Macherla is the Medical Director of Arizona Chest and Vascular Surgeons in Peoria, Arizona. There, he specializes in treating lung, esophageal cancers, gastroesophageal reflux disease, as well as abdominal, visceral, thoracic artery aneurysms,peripheral arterial and carotid disease.

Licensed to practice medicine in Arizona, he is affiliated with Abrazo Heart Hospital, Abrazo Arrowhead Hospital, Honor Health Shea, Osborne, Thompson Peak and others.

Educated in India, Dr. Macherla relocated to the United States. After completing General surgery and Thoracic Surgery Residency, he gained additional experience in endovascular Surgery at Arizona Heart Institute.

He is board-certified in General and Thoracic surgery administered by the American Board of Surgery, and American Board of Thoracic Surgery.

Cardiothoracic surgeons specialize in surgical procedures inside the thorax, which may involve the heart, lungs, esophagus,major blood vessels, and other organs in the chest. Alongside performing surgery, they also diagnose, treat diseases of these organs and blood vessels.
