Dr. Vabnick-Wener is a highly-trained pediatric anesthesiologist practicing at American Anesthesiology of Tennessee, PC in Memphis, Tennessee. 

Licensed to practice medicine in many states, she is affiliated with Baptist Memorial Hospital-Collierville, Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis, Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women, UAMS Medical Center, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Upon graduating with her medical degree from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 1995, Dr. Vabnick-Wener went on to further her training. She performed her residency in anesthesiology at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in 1999, and her fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2001. 

Following her training, the doctor attained board certification in anesthesiology through the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. 

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, they measure the patient’s respiration.
