After earning his medical degree with honors from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the Lebanese University in Lebanon in 1996, Dr. Hatoum decided to pursue his training in the United States. Once there, he performed his internship at Bassett Healthcare, followed by his residency in radiation oncology at SUNY Upstate Medical University in 1998.

From 2006-2010, Dr. Hatoum worked at the Sylvester Cancer Center of the University of Miami. He carried different appointments including Associate Professor of Clinical Radiation Oncology, Co-Leader of the Head and Neck Cancer Site Disease Group, as well as Associate Director of Radiation Oncology at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology, which oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

Accumulating rich experience and knowledge, Dr. Hatoum is the Lead market Director of Oncology with HCA East Florida Division. He is affiliated with John F Kennedy Comprehensive Cancer Institute in Palm Beach as well as Mercy Hospital in Miami, and is the principal investigator of NRG ONCOLOGY. 

Radiation oncology is a medical specialty that involves the controlled use of radiation to treat cancer. It is one of the three primary specialties, the other two being surgical and medical oncology, involved in the treatment of cancer.
