Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Alexander Lin, who serves patients throughout the State of Illinois.

Dr. Lin holds the distinguished position of Medical Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern Medicine Regional Medical Group, South Region, where he tends to patients at the Orland Park and Mokena, Illinois offices. He can also be found on staff at Palos Hospital.

His practice is characterized by a diverse range of focus areas, encompassing abnormal pap smears, abnormal uterine bleeding, endometrial ablation, hysteroscopy, minimally invasive gynecologic procedures, ovarian masses and cysts, robotic gynecologic surgery, and uterine fibroids.

As a trailblazer in the field of women’s health, Dr. Lin is dedicated to the belief that every patient has a unique story and deserves a personalized healthcare plan. He strives to cultivate enduring relationships with his patients, positioning himself as their dedicated healthcare partner for life.

Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Lin graduated with his Medical Degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1990. He then went on to perform his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University from 1990 until 1994.

With an unwavering commitment to excellence, Dr. Lin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

In the professional sphere, Dr. Lin is an active member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, further highlighting his commitment to staying at the forefront of his field and offering the highest level of care to his patients.

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics and gynecology. An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health.

In his free time, Dr. Lin enjoys various hobbies and sports, including reading and playing golf, with travel being at the top of the list. One of his favorite vacation spots is Zihuatanejo, Mexico.
