Get to know Sports Medicine Specialist Dr. Jamil R. Neme, who serves patients in St. Louis, Missouri.

A knowledgeable sports medicine specialist, Dr. Neme stands as a beacon of expertise and compassion in the realm of Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. In his practice, he adopts a comprehensive approach to patient care, emphasizing preventive measures, patient education, and personalized treatment plans tailored to each individual’s unique needs. He is a graduate of Creighton University School of Medicine. Following his medical education, he pursued residency training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he honed his skills in primary care and preventive medicine, laying a solid foundation for his future endeavors.

Driven by a commitment to advancing his expertise in sports medicine, Dr. Neme furthered his training with a fellowship at St Vincent Health Center, immersing himself in the intricacies of sports-related injuries and their non-surgical management. 

An authority in his field, the doctor  is board-certified in family medicine and sports medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Holding membership status, Dr. Neme is a proud member of esteemed organizations such as the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.

As an assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, he is committed to sharing his expertise with the next generation of healthcare professionals, shaping the future of primary care and sports medicine. He also serves as team physician for Saint Louis University, Fontbonne University, Harris-Stowe State University, University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy and the Gateway Grizzlies in addition to being the Co-Medical Director for SSM Health Sports Medicine. 

Sports medicine is a branch of medicine that deals with physical fitness and the treatment and prevention of injuries related to sports and exercise at all levels of participation and competition. A sports medicine doctor is a primary care doctor who is specially trained to diagnose and treat injuries that are sustained while playing sports and any other type of orthopedic (musculoskeletal) injury.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Neme finds joy and rejuvenation in cooking, playing basketball, and spending time outdoors.
