He also completed several fellowships, one in neuro-ophthalmology and one in neuroimmunology, both at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, along with a fellowship in neuroimmunology and neuro infectious disease at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.

Activating patients’ sensations, Dr. Malik is board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

He comes to Houston Methodist Sugar Land from Geisinger Neuroscience Institute in Danville, Pennsylvania, where he served as an assistant professor of neurology.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.

Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Malik has been honored with various awards, including the Young Investigator Award (Americas Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis, 2020), the Sylvia Lawry Fellowship Award (National M.S. Society, 2018-2019), and Resident of the Year Award at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in Danville, Pennsylvania.

On a more personal note, he speaks several languages, including English, Arabic, Hindi, and Urdu.
