Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Matheney graduated with his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine in 1988. He then went on to perform his residency in internal medicine at the Tulane University School of Medicine, followed by his fellowship in cardiology with the University of Tennessee.
Specializing in heart health, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
