Dr. Robert Szewc, a dedicated nephrologist with over 25 years of experience, is on a mission to preserve kidney longevity through innovative patient care, education, and advocacy. Based in San Antonio, he focuses on a dual approach that combines both holistic and conventional methods to empower patients and their families on their journey towards better kidney health.

"It is beyond my passion to assist patients through the difficult journey of kidney transplant and educate them and their families about their disease," says Dr. Szewc. "My goal is not just to treat, but to provide comprehensive education that fosters understanding and proactive management of their condition."

Originally from Poland, he earned his medical degree from the Medical School of Lublin, before completing his internal medicine residency at UMass Memorial Healthcare and served as Chief Nephrology Fellow at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. His clinical expertise encompasses the management of chronic kidney disease, hypertension, obesity, and various chronic metabolic issues. He believes that personalized treatment plans that integrate dietary counseling and lifestyle modifications are crucial for effective kidney disease management.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Szewc is deeply committed to educating future medical professionals and policymakers about the significance of kidney health and its broader implications for community well-being and the healthcare system. He actively participates in various medical associations, including the American Medical Association, the American Society of Nephrology, and the Renal Physician Association, advocating for better kidney health initiatives and policies.
