Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Carl Weber Watson, who serves patients in Oakland, California.

Well-versed in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Watson has served the community of Oakland, California for over 42 years.

Back in 1964, he earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the same educational venue in 1965 and 1968, respectively.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
