Serving Plymouth County and Southeastern Massachusetts since 1987, the highly trained physicians at Plymouth Ear, Nose & Throat are board-certified and strive to provide comprehensive medical care that their patients have come to expect. Their knowledge and expertise in combination with their state of the art equipment and technology enables them to provide patients with the highest quality of general and sub specialized ENT medical care.
Educated in the United States, Dr. Patel received dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Chemical Engineering from John Hopkins University in 1994, and earned his medical degree and Master of Business Administration degree from the Tufts University School of Medicine in 1999. He then went on to further his education with an internship at the Montefiore Medical Center in 2000, before completing his residency in otolaryngology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2004, where he was Administrative Chief Resident in his final year.
As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is double board-certified in otolaryngology and sleep medicine by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, which is a non-profit corporation that has set the mission of ensuring professional standards with certificates and memberships and has offered training in the fields of head neck surgery to professionals since 1924.
Maintaining fellowship status, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (FAAO-HNS), and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He is also an Associate Fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, and is an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
In the past, Dr. Patel served as a Chemical Engineer at Biomeasure (May 1994 – June 1995), and was a Research Associate within the Otolaryngology Research Center at the New England Medical Center (May 1996 – June 1998).
Otolaryngology is the oldest medical specialty in the United States. Pediatric otolaryngologists are primarily concerned with medical and surgical treatment of ear, nose, and throat diseases in children. They generally provide the following services: diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, and throat disorders, as well as head and neck diseases.
Recognized as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly Magazine, Dr. Patel has been the recipient of the Top Doctor Award by Cape Cod Magazine (2015-2017). He was also inducted in the Tau Beta Pi National Engineering Honor Society in 1993, and received the Joel M. Noe Award by the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery in April 1997.
