With more than two decades of experience, the doctor has provided his services at several establishments throughout the Houston area and the state of Ohio, including Westside Orthopaedic from 1996 until 2005, Greater Houston Orthopaedic from 2005 until 2006, Fondren Orthopaedic from 2006 until 2018, and Ohio State University from 2018 until 2019.
A 1989 graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Medicine, Dr. Chau completed his internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Louisiana State University in 1990 and 1992, respectively. He then went on to complete his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Virginia in 1995, followed by his fellowship in total joint reconstruction at the Cleveland Clinic in 1996.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS), he is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, which is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons. After completing his fellowship training in the Ilizarov Technique in Lecco, Italy, he conducted a presentation on the ‘Treatment of Pilon Fractures with the Ilizarov Technique’ at the AAOS Annual Meeting.
