Can antidepressants cause chronic fatigue?
Great question. Several things to know first. Not all antidepressants are equal. Many different types, thus side effects differ. In practice for many years and have experienced many patients on various antidepressants complain of increased fatigue. Some patients, this resolves over time, and others, it can lead to a change in medications. However, I have not seen a situation where most of the common antidepressants cause the chronic fatigue syndrome. Thereafter, he completed his internship and residency training at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine/Sinai Hospital program in Baltimore, Maryland in 1995, where he was recognized as “The Outstanding Senior Resident of the Year.”
Following his education, he became board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
