Get to know Emergency Physician Dr. Peta-Gay Nolan, who serves patients in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

A seasoned emergency physician, Dr. Nolan is in practice at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Since 1873, Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital has been growing and building a reputation of excellence in care, diagnostics, treatment, prevention and education. Graduating with his medical degree from the University of Michigan School of Medicine, Dr. Nolan went on to further his training by completing a residency in emergency medicine at the Barnes Jewish Hospital.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the doctor is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). The ABEM is one of 24 medical specialty certification boards recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Emergency medicine, also known as accident and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. An emergency physician works in an emergency department to care for acutely ill or injured patients on an unscheduled basis.
